Chloe Cottalorda lives and works in the Ardeche since 2011. Her artworks on glass are called “Grisaille”which is a special technique: use of a greyish powder (made from metal oxide) mixed with water or other binders. With this dough she covers a sheet of glass and after its a matter of drawing with light, in the shadows and not the other way around as in traditional painting or drawing. Everything is inverted, even texts must be written in reverse. After everything is cooked at 610 degrees its embedded in the sheet of glass.
Chloé Cottalorda loves to slip into stories that are or are not hers, to make visible things translated in a personal language.
